Using active control at the turbine inlet to recover and exploit the highly dynamic exhaust gas pulse energy emanating at high frequency from an internal combustion engine. The Active Control Turbocharger enables more engine downsizing, down-speeding and down-cylindering with the same overall performance of the original engine, or higher performance and efficiency and less fuel consumption and emissions for the same engine.
