A highly flexible and manoeuvrable remotely piloted aircraft system able to fly Beyond Visual Line Of Sight for long-distance logistics delivery & network asset inspections.

About

OVERVIEW OF FEATURES, BENEFITS AND RESULTS With the right type of flexible, highly manoeuvrable and portable Remotely Piloted Aircraft System capable of flying Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS), long-distance logistics delivery and aerial network asset inspections can be automated in a repeatable manner, providing the ability to deliver BVLOS logistics and automatically inspect assets and infrastructure and compare multiple inspection data sources & identify maintenance trends earlier. This delivers a substantial reduction in inspection costs, reduced maintenance & repair interventions as well as reduced service down time. Features - A long endurance, precision flight, BVLOS Remotely Piloted Aircraft System - Simulate logistics & inspection operations in advance of implementation Benefits - The ability to automate low-altitude last-mile delivery & aerial inspection operations over long-distances, Beyond Visual Line Of Sight. - The ability to secure national Civil Aviation Authority approval now. - The ability to validate the technical and commercial viability prior to investing in an operational solution. Results - The ability to automate last-mile delivery & network asset inspection operations. - The ability to compare inspection results automatically with previous inspection results using state-of-the-art software visual-comparison techniques. - The ability to substantially reduce inspection costs, optimize maintenance interventions and reduce network down-time. - The ability to establish the financial benefit(s) and secure the buy-in of key decision makers within your organization prior to making the final investment decision. CLIENTS AND EXPERIENCE We have over 18 years experience in this field. Current clients are confidential but are in the field of energy distribution, transport & highways, military and satellite service providers. Past clients include the UK MoD and a major European defence prime contractor. SPEED TO DELIVER/MARKET  We are currently manufacturing our latest generation VTOL Flying Wing, which has been in development for 3 years. We have a Joint-Venture with amey plc (part of Ferrovial) and work within Rockwell Collins UK HQ as part of their Innovation Centre. Together with Rockwell Collins and amey, we have a collaborative solution capability from drone Unmanned Traffic Management, multi-BVLOS communications (4G, SatComs & CNPC) and service provision through our amey Joint-Venture ameyVTOL. We have a robust ground station and full simulation environment in order to confirm Concepts of Operation (ConOps). We work with customers to establish their drone BVLOS requirements, translate them, using advanced simulation tools, into sets of operations that can be flown by remotely BVLOS. This work enables customers to confirm their drone BVLOS requirements and sign-off on the required inspection procedures, but also enable us to secure confirmation from the National Aviation Authority that when the appropriate Remotely Piloted Aircraft System when presented for ConOps certification, the likelihood of securing that certification is high. We then work with the customer to develop their BVLOS solution, introducing it into service through ameyVTOL, securing appropriate National Aviation Authority approval along the way. The customer can either run the service themselves or work with ameyVTOL to provide the service. Depending upon requirements, this entire process from initiation to service delivery depending upon solution complexity typically takes 6 months to 2 years. COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES  We are looking to grow our business through further industry collaboration to expand into new markets as well as new partners to expand our business in market sectors and markets not addressed by either amey (Ferrovial) or Rockwell Collins.

Key Benefits

A Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS) hybrid drone with up to 6 times the range & endurance of an equivalently sized multi-rotor drone. It can take off and land from almost anywhere. It can take off and land from moving vehicles. It is modular in construction and can be designed to carry different sized payloads.
