SunEos aims to unlock the potential of contactless technology to empower social events and universities. SunEos is a fully integrated cashless payment system combined with e-wallet wristbands for any social event. It was founded by French duo, Henry De Bennetot and Alexis Garavel, with the aim of revolutionising the UK’s social scene and reinventing the event experience. SunEos uses contactless technology similar to London’s Oyster and Hong Kong’s Octopus cards to incorporate a touch pay system into pre-programmed wristbands for use at events. The result is a safe, fast payment system for everything from food and drink to merchandise, and the elimination of the need for lengthy queues. About Us SunEos officially began in June 2013 on the London Business School campus, yet the idea had been brewing for a while. The inspiration came back in 2011, when co-founder Henry was introduced to the cashless payment system on the Hong Kong subway, the Octopus Card. It had the dual function of being a subway pass and allowing users to pay for groceries. Impressed by its ease of use, it made him wonder what else this technology could revolutionise. Both Henry and Alexis attended various concerts and festivals over the years, and were no strangers to losing cash, cards or wallets. Another common frustration was waiting at bars where it was often a struggle to get a drink. These difficulties persuaded them to fuse concert ticket, cloakroom token and wallet into one single and simple device securely strapped around the wrist and so, the idea of SunEos was born. After speaking with a number of professionals, the team also realised that its attendance monitoring solution could be of use to the education sector, where student attendance is often still recorded and compiled by hand. Since then, the team has grown and its attendance management system has been used by institutions such as the London Business School. In 2015, SunEos’ focus will be on bringing its flexible, easy to use attendance monitoring system in the hands of educational institutions and event organisers alike.
