Microneedle formulation which allows fine dosage control and consistent drug delivery intradermally

About

A novel material for use in the formation of microneedles. The new material enables consistent skin puncture and deep drug delivery into intradermal layers.

Key Benefits

The new material is compatible with drug delivery of hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs. It can also be used in current microneedle manufacture processes (including efficient demoulding). The microneedles produced are: -mechanically stronger -enable consistent dosing -permit deeper intradermal delivery -high drug loading -homogenous drug and material distribution along the needles -simple scale up and mass production route

Applications

The new microneedles have been developed with imiquimod delivery for the treatment of basal cell carcinoma in mind. We are keen to explore cosmetic uses as well.
