I have extensive experience in rail system engineering, both vehicles and infrastructure, verification of compliance & approvals processes (homoogation), project management and engineering, standards development, working with regulatory bodies to de-risk delivery, and government departments to develop legislation. I have experience of maintenance management, development of quality, safety and environmental management systems; I have strong stakeholder engagement skills. I can advise companies wishing to innovate and grow their business into the rail transport sector, which has doubled in size in the last 20 years in the UK, and which is forecast to continue growing. The UK passenger operators are in the process of introducing 7000 new vehicles (50% of the current fleet size), , improving its quality and reliability. This growth will require a step-change in skills, support technology and new maintenance techniques.
