Programming and Quality Manager, Fermentation Pilot Plant (UAB)
The Fermentation Pilot Plant has the facilities, equipment and experience required for the development of fermentation and downstream processes up to pilot scale.
The activity of the Fermentation Pilot Plant (PPF) is focused on those industries that require facilities suitable for the development of processes and/or the production on a pilot scale. Companies of the following sectors could be included: Pharma and veterinary: antigens, antibodies, toxins for diagnosis, pharmacologically active proteins, plasmid DNA, etc. Fine chemistry: biosynthesis of optically active molecules, enzymes for biotransformations, etc. Food and Agriculture industry: starters, fungicide, bactericide, food additives, etc. Cosmetics: active ingredients. Main services offered by the PPF are: R+D+I of biotecnological processes Design, development and optimization of bioprocesses. Identification and characterization of microorganisms. Culture medium design. Growth and production kinetics. Analytical methods implementation. Culture strategies study. Scale-up development. Downstream development. Production processes at pilot scale Production of large quantities of biotechnological products and/or cell biomass. Production under Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Training and advising Training of specialized personnel for biotechnological companies. Advising and process analysis. E. coli recombinant protein production platform Proprietary strain and vector antibiotic free expression system. Fast gene to protein workflow. High cell density fermentation platform.
