As independent fermentation consultant i develop together with customers applications for fermentation (submerged or SSF). Goal is to improve efficiency and animal health, by fermenting raw materials. Customers are feed companies, crushers (soybean, sunflower, rapeseed), novel ingredients, and big farmers. Fermentation is a game-changer for coming decade in production of animal protein because it improves on a 100% natural way the efficiency and health. Companies are hiring me because of my scientific background, but also because i am very practical. Talk with farmers, as well nutritionist, and scientists. During last years i developed some highly interesting concepts, like fermentation of raw full fat soybeans. In addition, soybeanmeal, soyhulls, rapeseedmeal, sunflowermeal, peas, lupines, luzerne are nice materials to upgrade by fermentation. Fermentation results in degrading of ANF's, and also in a strong health-beneficial effect (lactic acid, lactic acid bacteria, low pH, low acid binding capacity, special components).
