Absolicon has produced a system to enable rapid, large-scale production of solar thermal heat collectors.

About

Industries such as food & beverages, textiles and chemicals must switch to renewable sources of fuel in the near future to reduce emissions. However, producing reliable high temperatures continues to be a barrier. However, solar thermal heat concentrators such as those produced by Absolicon now enable the production of steam and heat up to 160c from renewable sources. Absolicon's regional Robotic Production Line will mass-produce 100,000 m2 (50 MW) of the T160 parabolic solar concentrating collector every year. Thanks to the local production, the solar collectors can be locally built and installed and locally financed. This will result in solar thermal being cheaper than heat from oil and gas and in some sunny places even cheaper than coal and waste.

Key Benefits

Each square metre of solar collector will replace 100 litres of oil every year Predicted to save 500,000 tonnes of oil after ten years of production One year payback period. Local production reduces costs by 30%
