About

beeskin GmbH was founded in January 2019 by the couple Tina and Christian Sauer. Tina is a graphic designer and has more than 15 years of experience in freelance work. Christian is a serial entrepreneur who has sold his last enterprise, a B2B-data analytics company, in 2019 while in parallel starting the new project beeskin. Beeskins footprint in the world is supposed to be fully sustainable with the following guidelines: - Reduction of plastic usage to a minimum - Carbon neutrality - Decent minimum wages for employees - Cradle to cradle principles - Organic usage of our natural ressources with no exploitation Our overall vision is to replace plastic cling foil and reduce food waste. Therefore we aim to replace plastic products with a natural product and have found beeswax wraps to be the best alternative to plastic foil. In our production we use natural beeswax, organic cotton, jojoba-oil and tree raisin. Beeswax is one of our most important ingredients and we want to support sustainable beekeeping. Offering beeswax wraps is only one step towards this vision, as we are constantly looking for additional ways to fulfill our goals.

Key Benefits

Our value proposition is clear: Keep food fresh for longer. Every single one of us stores food in their refrigerator or store their bread in paper bags. With beeskin you can live a healthier life, as your fruits and vegetables last longer in your fridge. Cheese and Ham can also be stored in beeskins. Our first market application is the usage in private households. Personally we are using about 15 beeskins every day in our household. Most of our customers use 2-4 beeskins in their household. beeskins are also good for covering plates and bottles, wrapping sandwiches and preparing food for your kids to go to school.

Applications

beeskin is the alternative to plastic foil. It protects food from drying out but still lets it breathe. This way food stays fresh for longer. All natural. Use it for fruit and veggies, cake and bread, cheese and cold cuts (Salami, ham, mortadella…) wrap leftover pizza and put it into the the freezer an open bottle of wine or to cover a jug with fresh juice If you want to cover a can of dog food, we recommend to dedicate one and the same wrap to your four-legged friend. Also for onions and garlic, which are in direct contact with the cloth, it is advisable to reserve a cloth only for this purpose (so you dont end up with onion-flavoured apple. Although some might like it….)
