About

FOOD CHAIN SUPPLY HEALTH SAFETY CHALLENGE There is growing need to combat food poisoning resulting from field and storage facilities worldwide . Toxins are naturally occurring, heat stable poison that can occur in a variety of foods and causes up to 150,000 cases of liver cancer and many other health challenges each year. To address these global challenges of contaminated food, we've developed a breakthrough technological process route for the production of New Antifungal agent from Cellulose AgroBiomass via Proprietary Non pyrolysis liquefaction process, Granted Nigerian Patent No. NG/P/2011/299 Our Working prototype Liquefied Cellulose waste was found as potent active agent against the following Microbes Aspergillus niger -fungi Inhibited Aspergillus flavus, -fungi Inhibited RhizopusSp -fungi - Inhibited Bacillus cereus -bacteria - Inhibited See National Newspaper Publications http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/03/novel-dual-active-antifungal-biocide-extract/ The effects of some food-borne mycotoxins are acute, symptoms of severe illness appearing very quickly. Other mycotoxins occurring in food have longer term chronic or cumulative effects on health, including the induction of cancers and immune deficiency. There are many such compounds, but only a few of them are regularly found in food and animal feedstuffs such as grains and seeds. Nevertheless, those that do occur in food have great significance in the health of humans and livestock. Since they are produced by fungi, mycotoxins are associated with diseased or mouldy crops, although the visible mould contamination can be superficial.

Key Benefits

OUR NOVELTY AS ANTIDOTE TO ECONOMIC DISADVANTAGE The presence of mycotoxins in grains and other sample foods and feedstuffs has serious implications for human and animal health. Many countries have enacted regulations stipulating maximum amounts of mycotoxins permissible in food and feedstuffs. ROT PREVENTION & JOB LOSS PREVENTION IS PREFERABLE The ease of application of the technology would be a way of creating extra job opportunity for a new set of farm aids who would be engaged to treat aerated sacks and extension services officers would be engaged to advise on the benefits toward food waste prevention for farmers' gain. Most developed countries will not permit the import of commodities containing amounts of mycotoxins above specified limits. Mycotoxins therefore have implications for trade between nations. From economic point of view this restrictions placed by potential buyers of infested crops would be at a big disadvantage to l;ow income producing GLOBAL CONCERNS & FOOD SECURITY A third of the food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted across the global food system.Food security is affected by both food losses and food wastage, (Post-harvest) food loss relates to the quantitative food loss along the food supply chain right from harvest until consumption. Food waste, on the other hand, is the loss of edible food due to human action or inaction. food productivity, food production investments must tally with research towards the reduction of food losses . All need to be revived and perhaps re-invented.

Applications

EFFECTIVENESS OF OUR PROTOTYPE & THE ATTRACTION FOR REPLICABILITY Aspergillus niger is a fungus and one of the most common species of the genus Aspergillus. It causes a disease called black mould on certain fruits and vegetables such as grapes, apricots, onions, and peanuts, and is a common contaminant of food. Aspergillu Flavus was discovered over 30 years ago and have been subject to a great deal of research. It is clear that exposure to aflatoxins is hazardous to human health. For that reason, most countries have regulations governing the allowable concentrations of aflatoxin in food and feed . A potent human carcinogens and interfere with the functioning of the immune system. Among livestock, they are particularly toxic to chickens. Cotton seed, peanuts, peanut butter, pea, sorghum, rice, pistachio, maize, oilseed rape, maize flour, sunflower seed, figs, spices, meats, dairy products, fruit juices (apple, guava) APPLICATION : Aerated jute bags are treated with Liquid prototype to store all crops against infection & Infestation.
