About
We are a German based start-up working on biobased, non-fossil barrier coatings for fibre-based packaging, aiming to reduce plastics. Our solution is based on natural materials, can be applied using common application methods and focusses recyclability of the fibres. We are a spin-off from a German food manufacturer and – although we consider ourselves a start-up – we already supply industry-scale quantities.
Key Benefits
Our solution offers a plastic-free alternative to fossil based barrier coatings. Our coatings provide good water, water-vapour and fat resistances and can therefore be used for many kind of packaging application. It is used as a drop in solution with existing applicatoin technologies, such as paper coating, printing or spraying. Furthermore, it is recyclable with a high yield up to 95 % (CEPI method tested). It is direct food contact safe.
Applications
Fibre based packaging (wrapping applications, flexible packaging, rigid packaging).
Not yet applied to bottle applications but open to optimise the product to reach requirements within a research cooperation.
