Reduction of Water Soluble Phosphorus in Poultry Litter Chitosan

About

When mixed with poultry litter or other animal manure, this process will reduce the water extractable phosphorus content and subsequently reduce the runoff losses of phosphorus after these materials have been used on agricultural fields as a fertilizer. A potential organic amendment to poultry litter and other animals, Chitosan represents manures, as opposed to heavy metal salts and other amendments, that not only reduced water extractable phosphorus but also increases the nitrogen content.

Key Benefits

Reduces water extractable phosphorus as effectively as aluminum sulfate (sold as Al+Clear), but it should be considered an organic alternative.

Applications

* Poultry Litter Treatment to Reduce Water Extractable Elements * Poultry Production Bedding to Reduce Water Extractable Elements * Poultry Litter Treatment to Increase Nitrogen Content * Poultry Production Bedding to Increase Nitrogen Content * Delivery via Acetic Acid Solution to Reduce Ammonia Emissions
