A device could be developed to continuously measure anesthesia depth in a pediatric patient before and during a medical operation.

About

This invention is based on an anesthesia depth prediction system. A device could be developed to continuously measure anesthesia depth in a pediatric patient before and during a medical operation. Previous intellectual property by Kevin Sexton has been licensed to Baxter Healthcare and is currently undergoing FDA approval to be included with their intravenous pump system. They would be highly likely to license any additional intellectual property on the processing and analysis of PVP signals. Additionally, Volumetrix, LLC has a non-invasive signal processing patent on PVP signals and would be a potential licensee of the use of PVP signal for anesthetic depth.

Key Benefits

The system prevents overdosage and underdosage of anesthesia during any pediatric medical operation.

Applications

* The system serves to continuously measure anesthesia depth in a pediatric patient before and during a medical operation. * It also applies to anesthesia depth prediction.
