INVENTION Novelty of the invention rests in the novel use of biocompatible nanoparticles with Aggregation Induced Emission (AIE) characteristics as fluorescent bioprobes for cell imaging. Formulation of these red fluorescent emitters using biomacromolecule matrix yield uniformly sized nanoparticles (NPs) with high brightness and low cytotoxicity. These probes have been tested by using breast cancer cell and tumour bearing mice in in vivo experiment. When compared with the conventional cell imaging technology, competitive advantage of these probes lies in its ability to trace cell in a real time and non-invasive manner.
