Centralock uses enabled locks and mobile devices to validate and authorize asset users, remove lost key risks, provide audit trails and control access rights in real time.

About

Centralock is a maintenance-free high security industrial access control / locking system controllable by a separate device and monitored by a central control suite.  The separate device is often a mobile phone but other devices could be used if required. It is demonstrated to be cyber secure through third party CREST approved penetration testing.

This technology is in operation on utility sub-stations of Northern Powergrid since 2019, the system has required no maintenance and has never been defeated.  It was deployed under an OFGEM funded development project and met all the requirements set at the outset of the project.  The final project report, entitled CentraLock - Project Final Report v.5.0 - 29.03.22 and a slide showing Northern Powergrid and OFGEM's requirements that were met have been uploaded as part of our submission.

At the core of the system is a High Security Rapid Validation & Authorization Protocol. This patent pending protocol proves the identity of the person wanting to gain access by using the biometric features of a mobile phone (facial recognition, fingerprints or PINs) to validate the user and information from the central control suite to confirm they are authorized to access the asset.  This authorization can be updated in real-time.

Key Benefits

Key benefits:

  • No other system meets the requirements set by Northern Powergrid and OFGEM to secure their network
  • Provides a full audit trail of access events
  • Eliminates lost keys risk
  • Plug & Play anywhere in the world without any dedicated infrastructure.
  • Zero maintenance
  • Secure control of ancillaries such as alarms electric fences and fire suppression
  • Dynamic "Real-time" exception reporting via email
  • Improved lone worker safety through ingress and egress monitoring
  • Cyber secure operation demonstrated by CREST approved third party testing
  • Cyber secure authorization and validation protocols (Patent pending) using biometric security layer
  • Double AES encryption of all data with AES Keys changing for EVERY transmission
  • Geo-fencing only allows access only in pre-determined (and changeable) locations.

Two marketing flyers describing the benefits of the system, for the utilities and logistics and supply chain markets have been uploaded as part of our submission.

Applications

The Centralock system can be applied on any secure space with vulnerable contents into which access needs to be controlled and monitored. It therefore has wide application in many markets.

Two key markets are critical national infrastructure and logistics and supply chain.

The system was originally developed for use on electricity substations and met all the requirements set by Northern Powergrid and OFGEM at the start of the trial, and it can also be applied to any critical national infrastructure such as water or gas networks.

The ability to prevent access other than in pre-determined geographical locations means it has wide application for mobile assets such as shipping containers.
