About

WorkingMouse (WM) is a Brisbane-based software company that excels at designing and developing software solutions with the right mix of people, process, and tools. Operating for over 10 years, WM has consulted, scoped, developed, and supported more than 100 projects across Australia. With a 4.7-star rating on Clutch, Customers include: • The Department of Defence, CASG • Hitachi, Automated Haulage Systems • Queensland Government, Transport and Main Roads (TMR) • Master Electricians Australia • Bluescope Steel. WM was founded to commercialise Dr. Eban Escott’s PhD thesis titled "A Model-Driven Approach to Developing and Testing Web Applications" from the University of Queensland. As demand grew, and with the help of Advance Qld’s Ignite Ideas fund, the developed technology was separated from WM services and created as a distinct entity called ‘Codebots’. The Codebots technology is leveraged as a low-code tool that builds fit-for-purpose solutions, providing the certainty of off-the-shelf software but with the flexibility of a custom build. Together WM and Codebots formed the ECI company group. People WM has five squads and over 35 qualified staff who are all employed as full-time team members based within Brisbane. The squads are cross-functional with roles including squad leads, solution architects, product designers, software developers, and devops engineers. Process Agile delivery and PRINCE2 project governance are key. Our process is based on an experimental framework, taking the best from Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and empowering their squads to meet organisational standards and governance. This includes a specific focus on risk, estimations, checklists, ceremonies, acceptance criteria, and user acceptance testing. Technology Codebots utilises bots to write software. The bots are human trained and code just like developers, allowing organisations to leverage reuse through model-driven engineering in software development. The resulting application matches the customer software standards/tech stack and is owned by the customer to host on their preferred environment, independent of the Codebots technology. Unlike other low-code solutions, developers can customise the code written by the bots, providing the best of both worlds; the certainty of off-the-shelf software and the flexibility of a custom build, without vendor lock-in. For a comprehensive understanding of how this operates, we invite you to explore the ‘Working with Bots’ section within Codebots' public documentation.
