On-line solid state sensor technologies to measure the Water content of Oil or other Hydrocarbons in transfer pipelines

About

Our engineering Centre is developing on-line solid-state sensor technologies to measure the Water content of Oil or other Hydrocarbons. Applicable to a broad range of hydrocarbon transfer situations both offshore and onshore, the team has proven the concept and is now seeking collaborative partners in the Oil & Gas sector with an interest in using and further developing this technology through collaborative research & development, Joint venture or direct supply of sensor devices.   Key Benefits: No Moving Parts - Robust device suited to harsh environment operation Rapid Detection of Water in Hydrocarbons Easily installed as a stand alone or in-line system User friendly data interpretation No need for "markers" to identify measurands   Applications: Multi-phase flow detection with on-shore or off-shore pipelines Condition monitoring in Oil/ Gas transfer lines Sensors for the Process industries - fine chemicals, distilling, brewing etc....   IP Status: The technology is patent pending (PCT/2013/051143, filed May 2013) and is supported by a large body of know-how in sensor design and packaging for harsh applications. Proof of principle has been demonstrated on Contaminants/Water mixtures. Due to pending patents, further details on this technology, the experimental data etc. are available under a confidentiality agreement only. The team seek commercial partners with an interest in licensing, collaboration, joint development or purchase of systems.
