We have research projects that are developing machine learning algorithms based on hyperspectral data to detect plant diseases in different plants.

About

A part of a student project we have been developing machine learning algorithms for early detection of plant diseases. The models have been developed using hyperspectral data and we would be keen to connect with a commercial partner and hardware provider to allow this research to be used by producers. The models can be applied to different plant leaves and diseases.

Key Benefits

Improve plant health and disease detection

Support enhanced productivity and environmental monitoring

Enhancing farm level decision making and innovation

Working with partners to develop solutions needed by industry

Applications

The machine learning models to detect plant diseases can be used by producers to enhance their farming practices. Early detection and warning of diseases problems will enhance productivity and allow more timely and targeted control measures to manage disease problems. The software can be used by other hardware systems to make a commercial monitoring system. The application would be suitable for any plant growers around the world.
