About

Concept We have been working in the Utilities sector for over a decade, and during that time we have come to understand the difficulties in dealing with such a large install base of assets. Whilst this is not unique to the utilities industry, it is a more prominent issue due to the scales involved both in terms of asset volume and geographical coverage. Some of the main issues we have seen is understanding what variable speed drive assets are installed, a visibility of their history both by asset and by location, and spotting trends with equipment issues. There is such a large volume of VSD assets and across so many areas, that spotting patterns can be difficult and with so many engineers involved in working on the assets the historic issues and repeat failures can be missed, we have also identified that it can be difficult for the water company to know where the assets are in their product lifecycle. Innovation We therefore adapted and released a software solution for our framework customers, this software allows us to log all job sheets, risk assessment and all asset information against both the asset Serial number and its location ID, through this system we provide real time information on the status of ongoing and upcoming jobs as well as full historical information of the assets. We also store the full asset details including drawings and manuals for each asset and its lifecycle position. Our framework customers get free cloud-based access to this information from any platform so they can run reports and view the information from anywhere in the world, we can also tailor the information to the specific job role and access level required. This project has been in development since early 2018, we have a dedicated team that has worked to develop the system to meet the needs of our customers. We have invested £35,500 so far into this project, this doesn’t include the hard work our staff have put in either. Benefits Our early adopters have already seen an improvent in their sites and have had positive feedback on the system, it has saved them hours of admin work as they don’t have to manually enter data or request any information from ourselves, it is all automatically added once a job has been complete. This system is accessed via web browser and customers have their own unique log in details. This makes it available on smartphone, tablet or PC, any time and any where. Customers can access the full maitnenance history of each of their drive assets, progress of ongoing jobs which are open / scheduled and the status of any equipment on order. They can also retrieve copies of maintenance reports, job sheets and inspection certificates if needed. They can display a list of all jobs which are either scheduled, in progress or completed. They can click into individual jobs to obtain further information, such as work reports, time on/off, parts used and invoice details. They can also retrieve and re-print copies of job sheets and inspection certificates. The system also boasts a search function, you can search by your own equipment numbers or any part of the serial number. They can see details of all assets, including warranty, service dates, specification, job history etc. Order numbers can be provided and attachments uploaded to assist our Service Engineers upon arrival. Specific assets can be selected from a list to go onto the job.
