About

Capacitive Coupled ECG Sensing Systems: A Minimal Contact and Wearable ECG Sensing Method for Long Term Monitoring A small, portable and easy to wear ECG system that can monitor patients in the long-term. Abstract Various heart diseases have been observed throughout the world. The electrocardiograph (ECG) is a ubiquitous modern health monitoring method used to provide electrical activity of the heart. This non‐contact and wearable capacitive‐coupled ECG sensing system is designed to measure the electrical signals from the heart for long term monitoring. Sensors are connected to a portable device for analog and digital conversion. From the portable device, signals can be transmitted wirelessly for filtering and data acquisition in real time. Applications Aid in pediatrics to provide ECG traces to monitor the patients without skin irritation System is small, portable, and easy to wear making it better than conventional systems for long‐term monitoring of patients Advantages System optimization on power consumption, portability, environment adaptation and movement noise No direct contact to patients’ skin, which will not induce allergy or discomfort in patients Small and portable—wearable for the patient in long term monitoring Tech ID 14‐061 Inventors J.
