Project Summary EduKit is a for profit social enterprise on a mission to use data to improve the life-chances of young people (under 25), particularly those from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds. We are a big data company set to disrupt Education globally by helping schools and organisations that provide young people with supplementary support, to understand both the academic and personal development needs of their students, to locate and engage suitable local support and to track the outcomes. In the course of gathering this data for both schools and youth providers, we will also build up a unique and valuable data set that can be analysed to help improve outcomes for all students, by understanding which opportunities appear to have the greatest impact on students and where there are unmet gaps in provision. Once anonymised this information can be used in order to help schools, youth providers, government, local authorities and commercial ventures to understand how best to address unmet needs. Simply put, EduKit will use big data in Education to transform outcomes for all students, with those from disadvantaged backgrounds likely to benefit the most. Product/Service Currently, EduKit has two innovative, online platforms: EduKit Connect is an online directory of programmes and resources for students each classified by impact. Over 1000 youth providers have already used this service to promote their services for students to decision-makers at schools. EduKit Insight is an analytics platform that helps schools to understand student personal development needs and progress. Over 125 schools have already signed up to use this service. This platform also help youth providers to access impact data from schools and we are supporting the National Citizen Service (the government's flagship programme that has worked with over 1/2 million students across over 4,000 schools) with this service. So far, they have purchased licences for 250 of their schools. Our secure Insight Access module allows youth providers like NCS to access student performance and / or wellbeing data and analysis securely.
