This innovation allows for high efficiency at low air speeds, stopping the flow-separation of the air on a wing used for power or down force.

About

The invention relates to a new wing design for a wind turbine blade, a road vehicle wing/spoiler or a helicopter rotor blade. Specially proportioned and directed passive air jets in the wing’s surface guide air from the low pressure side to the high pressure side in order to counteract flow-separation and stalling at low speeds. A wind turbine will benefit from this technology during start-up procedure. Currently, a turbine needs to be powered above a desired RPM in order that the wind can move the blades without flow-separation occurring, this innovation allows the turbine to work at lower wind speeds with obvious benefits. Similarly, a helicopter rotor blade will be more efficient at low speeds and in thinner air. A vehicle requiring down force, for instance a racing car, will benefit from this technology during slow cornering. The passive air jets on a static spoiler direct air to the high pressure side keeping the air from separating at low speeds like in a corner, this gives increased down force at those speeds.   The technology has been proven in wind tunnel tests and a full version of the theosis is available on request.
