The mobile game industry is currently worth over $35b, and has over 3.2 million games available with 100’s of millions of players and over 1b hours spent playing mobile games annually. The app stores themselves present over 1000 games at any one time. It can take people anything from 15 minutes to an hour to filter through these options, that 72% of the time are only played twice before deletion, when extrapolating this it calculates to over 6 billion games installs wasted every year!! And with the current ad technology, it works less than 1% of the time, meaning 99% of content is unseen. Ben Woolf and his Co-founder Sam Koch are so passionate about this that they created Gameway to change the way content is personalised and help to turn bad recommendations and content into value for everyone involved. For the user... Gameway has a tinder-for-games feature that you can swipe right to like and build your own list of recommendations for later download and a section to store your current downloads and launch them from. Other features include a news feed for content, featured section for sponsored games and extra’s for gifts and goodies. As a product... Gameway is an A.I portal, filtering mobile games from the app stores and personalizing discovery, siting as a layer on top of all the current app stores, filtering mobile games, services and hardware. Data is collected from the games (genre, in-app purchases, needs wi-fi, sub categories), our users swipe, installs, uninstalls and play time – Machine learning algorithms process the data – Algorithms show the right games to the right people at the appropriate times. An example of our ability to automate discovery is if games are not played we prompt delete, or if you need Wi-Fi for your current game but always travel in places without Wi-Fi or want to save data, we prompt to download a game that does not need Wi-Fi at a suitable time before – i.e. you are travelling in the air, or underground) We have a news feed of interesting content that can be viewed. Rewards, gifts or prizes can be earned, charitable games/fundraises, competitions entered, shared competitive play amongst friends. We have an exclusive partner that allows our users to use less data when playing online, streaming or downloading games (particularly helpful for people in LEDC’s who are primarily mobile users). Overall Gameway doesn't require users to open the app and spend lots of time manually exploring and/or telling us their gaming preferences or writing reviews. Adverts are not included, and user data is utilised within our machine learning, unlike in-game ads or app stores. So far, our system can recommend valuable games that takes users 50x less time to find then current methods (app stores, sites, social media), and these games are kept for 25% longer than those found through google play (this is tracked in the app), which, for games applications can be a whole extra month and sometimes longer depending on the style, quality and type of game and preference of the user.
