The number of people living alone in UK has doubled in the last 40 years. Our robots will fill the shortage of professional dementia home carers.

About

Competitive Landscape: We have two types of competitors: 1) Large companies that produce robots for industrial applications and are diversifying into healthcare. Examples are Honda and Toyota. These companies produce very expensive robots (weakness) and have a lot of capital to diversify (strength). 2) Small innovative companies that produce robot toys or robot pets. Example is iBuddy. These companies produce robots for the mass market at cheap prices (strength) but do not provide the necessary intelligence for dealing with dementia patients (weakness). Our major competitor is Aldebaran, a company that specializes in intelligent personal robots and has announced a new robot for providing care to the elderly. We are not aware of any company in the UK providing a product and service combination like ours. Our 6 differentiators are: 1) Unlike the majority of robots that are sold without intelligent connectivity, we provide IoT-enabled personal robots that connect all robots & patients via the cloud, 2) Unlike all existing data systems that can’t guarantee data privacy, we guarantee patient’s total data privacy using BlockChain 3) Unlike other competitors that don’t have a community behind, we’ll crowdsource some artificial intelligence components of our platform to Data Science London (a community founded by our cofounder Carlos with 5000+ data scientists) 4) We plan to establish an exclusive agreement with the NHS for providing personal robots for dementia care, as of today no company is providing this kind of service for the NHS 5) Unlike most personal robots that come pre-programmed, our robots will learn and interact using the real-time data captured by the robot itself, the home sensors and bio-sensing wristband 6) Unlike most personal robots that are designed as “pets” or “toys,” our robots are specifically designed for people with dementia and provided with contextual intelligence that recognizes emotions and engage in human conversation. Our sales revenue model is based on 4 revenue streams: 1Dementia Patient subscription: This will be the primary source of revenue by which a patient subscribes to a annual services package 2 Dementia Researchers subscription: researchers pay to access fully anonymised, granular, historic, patient data for research purposes 3 Advertiser subscription: Companies (e.g. pharma, insurance) that’s would like to advertise product/services to patient's families via the platform 4 Developer Marketplace subscription: developers, startups and companies pay to access patient's anonymised data to develop and publish applications in our iBright platform Our primary markets are: Primary target market: People with dementia who need home care Horizontal markets: Internet of Things, robotics, and big data analytics. Vertical markets: Home care and Personalized healthcare. Geographic market: In the 1st phase we'll target UK. In a 2nd phase we will target other English speaking large markets like US where dementia is a big problem. In a 3rd phase, we will target the EU. Market research conducted and market size statistics: There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK (2015) In 2050 there will be 2.1 million people with dementia in the UK and 135 million people in the world. Cost of dementia care: £26.3 Billion in the UK and $600 Billion in the world (2015) There are over 40,000 people with early-onset dementia (< 65 years) in the UK The number of people living alone in UK has doubled in the last 40 years.
