About

Summary   Hypergolic propellants are fuels and oxidizers that ignite spontaneously on contact with each other and require no ignition source. Due to their easy start and restart capabilities, these fluids are ideal for use in many different rocket and aircraft systems for propulsion and hydraulic power. Our method for synthesizing salts allows them to be used as an additive that can make any compound both flammable and hypergolic. In addition, the salts remain ignitable even when dissolved in solution, including in the presence of water.
