A precise and innovative idea that is targeting a huge market. Five ready to use, ground up, operating systems developed by an individual with over 4 decades of experience.

About

In a nutshell, each of the five Application Frameworks are an embedded environment – a library of fully-tested, fully documented services, designed and scaled to match the needs of a commonly-used software architecture. The application specific code can call on the services to achieve the desired system behaviour i.e to carry out the specific tasks the electronic device has been designed for. The family of five operating systems (OS products) provide real time operation allowing them to respond very quickly to urgent external inputs. They are “ground up” products meaning they’re “oven ready” and pre-configured for a particular system architecture. Being ready to go is a huge advantage, as conventional commercial OS products (mostly known as RTOS) are “top down” and need to be drastically scaled in order to meet the needs of the less complex electronic devices. It is important to avoid direct comparison with complex RTOS products. Around 30% of seemingly “simple” embedded applications do not use a commercial OS – the developer writes their own. The result is unstructured spaghetti code and as a result, around half of these products never get to be manufactured. This is the (large) niche that our product fits perfectly in. Written by an individual with over 4 decades of experience and previous success writing several highly successful OS products. He also founded a number of software development product companies. Surveys consistently show that around 30% of applications do not use an RTOS. The reasons vary, it’s not that developers don’t need or use some sort of operating environment, they just create something specific to their needs. One may be asking, why has no one else taken the oven-ready, ground up approach? Well, you need many, many years of technical insight in writing OS products, combined with extensive commercial experience. The market has largely been created because of the ARM based revolution over the past few years.

Key Benefits

- The five Environments are specifically optimised for and dedicated to applications using “small” CPUs like the Arm Cortex-M0/M0+ and the TI MSP430/430X. These CPUs are now powering literally millions of low-cost digital products. - A “ground up” approach as opposed to “scale down to fit” RTOS approach. This is not to criticise RTOS products in any way - there are many excellent products on the market - very well-suited to the more complex application. However, it’s not a route many developers take when using small processors with seemingly straightforward applications. - Allows developers to concentrate on writing the application specific code. - Created by a very experienced team who have written several highly successful OS products. - Neat and innovative idea that is targeting a huge market. - Companies with their own high-end OS products would find our five products a perfect fit to add to the lower end of their existing product range. - Companies without their own OS products would benefit hugely, particularly as our top-end product is a powerful RTOS rather than a simple ‘starter’ OS.
