Provides higher resolution measurements over a larger working range than previous technologies. Measurements are achievable without complex alignment, allowing anyone to access it.

About

An innovative technology which measures extremely small distances and angular rotational changes. EUCLID is an easy to use compact laser interferometric measuring device capable of sensing at the pico metre level (10-12m). Interferometer devices are usually time consuming to set up but this is a simple Plug and Play USB compatible unit. Alignment is quick and easy and there is no need for mechanical or electrical connections to the object being tracked.  The device has been developed as a result of research in the development of technologies for precision tests of gravitation and the development space exploration satellites. Euclid is suitable for a wide range of applications such as integrated circuit manufacture, length metrology, nanophysics, seismometer readout and general applications in physics research. An alternative unit known as “ILIAD” has also been developed  for measuring angular rotation. EUCLID provides higher resolution measurements over a much larger working range than previous technologies. Such measurements are achievable without complex alignment, thus allowing anyone access to this technology. A small number of pre production prototypes of both these devices have already been produced and are performing well.
