Laska is a high-tech company that upcycles end-of-life tires with innovative, environmentally friendly and sustainable production approaches. Each year 1.5 billion waste tires emerge all around the world. The fact that these tires, some of which are burned and some of which are thrown into the nature, are not effectively utilized causes serious environmental problems. Carbon dioxide emissions, related climate change and global warming, pollution of natural resources are some of these problems. As Laska, with our patentable technology and the circular economy approach we adopt, we convert waste tires into two different products: carbon black and renewable fuel. We obtain these two products, normally obtained from fossil fuels with traditional production methods, by utilizing waste tires. In this way, we prevent the dirty and costly consequences of fossil fuel use. While eliminating the negative effects of waste tires on the environment, we regain them back to the economy. In this way, by upcycling waste tires, we change the fate of both them and our planet. Laska's solution contributes 9 of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. 1. High Technology: We realize our commitments with the use of high technology, developed upcycling techniques, and various enrichment processes. With our techniques we decompose waste tires in just a few hours, the dissolve of said tires in nature takes thousands of years. Also, our high technology and efficient production line significantly reduce the production costs. 2. Sustainability We obtain our products by evaluating waste tires instead of using fossil fuels. By this way, using sustainable resources instead of fossil fuels we reduce both dirty practices and high cost in the production of valuable products. 3. Circular Economy With the circular economy approach we adopt, we turn waste tires into raw materials and bring them back to the economy as high-added value raw materials. In this way, we eliminate the negative effects of waste tires on the environment. Also, we obtain our carbon black and fuel not with dirty and costly methods caused by fossil fuel use, but with clean and cost-effective methods. 4. Reduced Carbon Footprint: Our main products are alternatives to fossil fuel based products. Customers of conventional fossil fuel-based products are at a serious disadvantage due to the dirty practices and large carbon footprint of fossil fuel use. With our environmentally friendly products, our customers will be able to avoid these disadvantages. It is also possible to reduce their carbon footprints in this way.

Applications

Laska will upcycle 1 million waste tires per year which weight 11 thousand tons into raw materials. By this conversion we reduces carbon dioxide emission by 2.5 tons per 1 ton of carbon black. Moreover, we prevent an average of 2 tons of fossil fuels per 1 ton of carbon black and also we produce clean fuel that can be used instead of fossil fuels. At this point we worked with UNDP’s BctA team on impact report for calculate and also prove our social, economic and enviromental impact.
