Our sustainable concrete utilises roughly 90% recycled materials to achieve a carbon footprint of 50-55% and 30-35% of conventional concrete and clay brick respectively.

About

CemteQ specialises in sustainable, lightweight concrete. Together with cement, slag, perlite waste and designer admixtures, we recycle and process waste polystyrene as an aggregate replacement for various premixed concrete blends and lightweight concrete blocks and panels. In this way, we are able to incorporate waste material that would otherwise end up in landfills into the building process as well as ticking the solid, thermal insulation, fire-resistance and green building boxes.

Key Benefits

• Lightweight - densities as low as 25-30% of traditional bricks and blocks. • Thermal/energy efficient – thermal insulation is nearly 6 times that of brick and 9 times that of concrete providing up to 30% reduction in heating and cooling costs. • Fire-resistant – the recycled polystyrene is coated with a fire-retardant and, once combined with cement, a 140mm wall will withstand direct exposure to fire for 2 hours and a 100mm wall for 60 minutes. • Sustainable – 86% recycled materials with 30-35% of the carbon footprint of clay brick and 50-55% of concrete.

Applications

Construction, in particular the re-purposing of buildings into student residences, apartments, entry level housing and hotels, with more and more developers looking to re-use or re-purpose existing building stock in key locations around the urban landscape.
