Low density materials developed

About

RWDC is a pioneer in the PHA space. We use biofermentation techniques at our facility in Georgia to produce various types of PHA materials for a many end-use applications. A typical application will require blending different PHA strains with additives, fillers etc. to provide the proper properties for effective processing. Multi-ton scale quantities are then produced for field trials at our customer processing facilities.

Key Benefits

PHA articles produce no micro plastics when used by the consumer or disposed after use.

The chemical industry has a history of kicking the can down the road on environmental and human safety issues. Lead paint, ozone depleting aerosols, "forever chemical" surfactants etc. are well known examples. Emerging science in the area of the impacts of micro plastics on human health will lead many CPGs to wonder why they ignored PHA materials as viable total solutions.

Applications

PHA is suitable for many single use plastic applications including;

  1. Packaging films
  2. Single use fiber/non-woven
  3. Injection molded articles
  4. Adhesives
  5. Agriculture use articles
