Biotica Chemicals Ltd., developing new smart fertiliser releases nutrients on demand of plant needs, decreases production cost and decreases emission of GHG while increasing yield.

About

Using inorganic fertiliser causes around 2-5 % of GHG emissions worldwide per year. No way we can reach net zero in the farming sector with the current fertilising system. There is a need for precise fertilisers that increase yield and reduce emissions. It is time to move from one fertiliser, fits all crops and conditions. In Biotica Chemicals Ltd., we developed a platform of new fertilisers that will help farmers to decrease emissions of GHG such as Ammonia, and Nitrous oxide. These are designed to release nutrients only when plants need them. We are using innovative biodegradable polymers to coat inorganic fertilisers such as Urea. The final coat is designed to release nutrients slowly over a long time. Also, it contains several ingredients that will reduce fast nitrifications by enzymes in the soil.

Key Benefits

Our smart fertiliser will benefit farmers by reducing the emission resulting from their farms including reducing ammonia and Nitrous oxide emissions. Also, the long release time means that farmers need to apply only 1 time per crop cycle. This will reduce the production cost, less labour is needed. Our smart fertiliser contains all plant needs as macro and micronutrients and growth regulators as ingredients. This will result will an increase in all nutrients available from plants and will result in a yield increase. Our Trails with Tomatoes and winter wheat show these results and we are planning to make several trails in different in the UK and EU.

Applications

We are developing new smart fertilisers. Controlled release fertilisers for Arable farms and for horticulture and indoor farming.
