About

We have created an original, interactive digital mobile app owned and operated in British Columbia. myWardrobe Online is an app developed for the purpose of clothing resale, focused on sustainability & saving money, and is a viable alternative to other clothing resale sites as the industry continues to grow at 1.5x the rate of the fast fashion industry. myWardrobe Online is a platform that promotes a circular economy, extending the life of clothing and promoting sustainability within the fashion industry. The goal is to help reduce the impact of fast-fashion on the environment by reducing the amount of fashion ending up in the landfill, as well as the amount of new clothing purchased. A circular economy is an economic system that takes a regenerative approach in opposition to the traditional linear business model of ‘take-make-dispose’ model of production. It is gaining ground in the fashion industry as an answer to reducing pollution and waste, and making the most of our natural resources. Using an in-app currency called Kudos, the app allows women to sell quality items from their closet, and purchase something else without spending money (shipping charges apply). No consignment fees means sellers can recoup the full value of goods sold, meaning there is an economical advantage over typical consignment and retail shopping. Kudos is a reward system for a job well done.

Key Benefits

• promoting sustainability within the fashion industry • building a circular economy for fashion resale • providing an economical way to shop • creating social connections through interactive platform * promoting designer / brand accessibility through resale * peer-to-peer platform with little overhead and no inventory holding costs

Applications

Currently myWardrobe Online is live in the USA and Canada and successfully making cross boarder transactions using either cash or Kudos. As a peer-to-peer application, customers upload an item for sale, making it available to other members of the application to purchase for cash or in app tokens (Kudos). Once the transaction has been completed the seller receives the cash, kudos, and a prepaid shipping label to send the item to the purchaser. myWardrobe online has potential to deal with retailer returns. The application could be rebranded/modified to suit the retailers current branding and business model, to accept all non-damaged returns that can be resold. This would take the problem with returns away from the retailer and put it into the hands of the consumers. Consumers would then have cash or kudos to spend in-store or within the app. Retailers would get the benefit of: - little to no cash refunds - promoting a circular economy - positive environmental ethos - reducing the waste associated with returns
