About

Background: A system for recording neural signals or other biological signals. The system includes a plurality of electrodes, low noise amplifiers, an analog to time converter, an RF modulator, and an antenna. The plurality of implantable electrodes can receive analog bioelectrical signals. The analog-to-time converter includes a plurality of low noise amplifiers comprising built-in bandpass filtering characteristics to amplify and filter the received analog bioelectrical signals, wherein each of the plurality of low noise amplifiers coupled to one of the plurality for implantable electrodes; a plurality of pulse width modulators, the pulse width modulators adapted to convert an amplitude of the analog bioelectrical signals to a pulse width sample; a time division multiplexer coupled to at least one of the pulse width samples, the time division multiplexer arranging the pulse width samples in a synchronous orientation; and a voltage controlled oscillator comprising an output. The antenna wirelessly transmits the output of the voltage controlled oscillator.
