Supramolecular Chitosan Complex as a Novel Drug Delivery Platform

About

The developed supramolecular (micellar) system comprises a hydrophilic shell of linear aliphatic poly(ether) and a hydrophobic core of perfectly branched poly(benzyl ether). It can bind various hydrophobic substances ranging from small spherical molecules to large macromolecules without covalent bond formation. The non-toxic and fully biocompatible technology enables the simultaneous encapsulation of a cocktail of substances, as well as the modulation of surface moieties for targeted drug delivery and cell labeling. U.S. Patent Application: 15/562,526 PCT Application: PCT/US2016/025250 SUNY-ESF-2003
