An all-fiber spectroscopic fluorescence system to easily and rapidly measure accurate bacteria total count on-site.

About

Summary: Bacterial detection and determination is critical for safety and reputation in many industries. Current methods for bacterial detection and determination require a laboratory and take days to get results, notwithstanding sample shipping. The delays in getting results can induce massive product waste, loss of flexibility to exploit market opportunities and potentially large cost of risk mitigation. There is a clear need for a fast and accurate in-situ test. Better Bacterial Detection By using novel laser and photonics technologies, we have developed a totally new method of testing for bacteria. Our invention can be used with minimal manual intervention, in situ and give results within 30 minutes. Results will show a quantification of bacterial load, live dead ratios for use in antibiotic resistance tests and in the future, species identification.   Competitive Advantages: Detection and quantification of bacteria that cannot be cultured Use In-situ Skilled labour not necessary Significantly reduced likelihood of false positives due to contamination Significantly reduced time to test
