About

Additive for Improving the Efficiency and Stability of Organic Perovskite Materials for Electronics, including Photovoltaics Tech ID: UA20-238 Invention: This invention is a new small molecule for passivating defects in organic perovskite electronic devices that improves power conversion efficiency, device quality and higher long-term stability, even in dopant-free designs. Background: Perovskite solar cells (PSC), considered to be third generation photovoltaics, have great potential to increase solar energy conversion efficiency and decrease the cost of solar energy cell production. The highest achieved power conversion efficiency for PSCs is now greater than 24%, but the rapid degradation of perovskite materials on exposure to air and moisture is not fully mitigated, limiting their commercial potential.

Key Benefits

- Improved efficiency - Improved durability

Applications

- Perovskite PV solar cells - Electrochromic devices incorporating perovskite structures and interfaced with a metal oxide - Light emitting diodes (LEDs) - Other perovskite electrochemical systems
