We use a coating that reacts with blue light to remove methane and bacterial load on farm, creating safe, healthier environments for livestock and removal of antibiotics

About

Every pork, dairy & poultry farm generates pathogens and gases dangerous for animals, humans and the planet. We can address these challenges by a simple and inexpensive process. We apply a water based coating to the animal shed made up of Tio2. In dark rooms we add a small LEDs with blue visible light. In TiO2 applications, hydroxyl radicals (OH•) are generated through a process known as photocatalysis, where TiO2 is exposed to light. When TiO2 absorbs light, it becomes excited and forms electron-hole pairs. These electron-hole pairs can react with water molecules (H2O) adsorbed on the surface of TiO2 to form hydroxyl radicals (OH•). Hydroxyl radicals are highly reactive species that can react with organic compounds, such as pollutants, and break them down into smaller, less harmful molecules. This process is called oxidation, and it is what makes TiO2 photocatalysis an effective method for environmental remediation. In simple terms, hydroxyl radicals in TiO2 applications work by breaking down pollutants into smaller, less harmful molecules through a process called oxidation. This is made possible by the reactive nature of hydroxyl radicals, which are generated when TiO2 is exposed to light.

Key Benefits

On farms, reduce mortality, reduced disease, better animal weight gain, lower climate gasses such as methane and ammonia, elimination of antibiotics, proactive approach to bacterial management in high intensive farming. Animals are less aggressive and enjoy improved welfare / environments.

Applications

The applications are widespread. This innovation breaks down bacteria, viruses and pathogens, It breaks down toxic chemicals such as methane and pollutants from traffic fumes. The technology enables continuous disinfection using light, thus useful in food processing, storage, public transport, healthcare. It can address mold and mildew and toxic fumes, so has application in FM, schools, prisions, and on a larger scale can help address city wide air pollution.
