Mancha is a Startup located at the Business Incubator of UFRJ in Rio de Janeiro. Mancha produces plant based ink from nature's pigments, such as cacoa, turmeric, yerba matte. The advantage is its natural and non-toxic composition, free of heavy metals and synthetic compounds. The major goal of Mancha is to spread concepts of sustainability, Green Chemistry, clean processes, circular economy, conscious consumption and art. It is aligned with Manchas’s philosophy to develop this work on one of the most polluted sector, the pigment and dye industry. The company's products are primarily vegetable and are designed to replace mineral or petroleum derived compounds. Mancha design products and materials at the highest value and utility cycle, mitigating waste generation andreconnecting materials into the process chain, stimulating the bioeconomy. The production ofYerba mate ink, for example, is carried out in partnership with "Araucária + Initiative" andcontributes to the conservation of 180 hectares of the Atlantic Forest.
