A solution for condition monitoring of machines and structures, based on a distinctive fiber optic sensing technology suitable for harsh environments

About

We're developing a solution for condition monitoring of machines and structures, based on a distinctive fiber optic sensing technology. We are solving the problem of extracting direct data from assets that are working in harsh environmental conditions, for providing precise predictive analytics. For example, this technology is suitable for monitoring crushers and other critical machinery in the mining sector. It also has many advantages in aerospace, oil&gas and other domains. The sensing technology was developed in the electro-optic lab of Ariel University and underwent an extensive PoC with the assistance of the Israeli national water operator and the Israeli Innovation Authority.

Key Benefits

Our system can acquire vibrations and ultra-sound signatures (i.e. acoustic emissions) using fiber optic cables, that can work in harsh locations and under strong EMI signals. Interpretation of this information leads to precise condition monitoring and prediction of future failures in equipment and structures.

Applications

Aerospace (engines and aerostructures); Mining (crushers, water pumps, and vehicles); oil & gas (pumps); electricity (partial discharges in HV equipment) and more.
