When patients are using a breathing machine or ventilator, this valve helps when they gasp (lung pressure goes down) or cough (lung pressure goes up) in pressure relief.

About

When patients are using a breathing machine or ventilator, the flow rate is preset at x litres/minute. Now, there are two extreme situations, one is when the pressure in the lungs goes down (what we call gasping, needing more air), the other one is when the pressure in the lungs goes up (we call coughing, needing to expel air). In each instance, the valve opens to relieve pressure and then closes itself until the machine can take over. Our design is modular, has no electronics (so can be used in so many geographic locations) and works purely on the principles of fluid mechanics.

Key Benefits

Works with smaller diameter tubes, and therefore leaves more room for instruments to be inserted down the windpipe, and can also be used in case of children.

Applications

To be used in medical applications, externally only, connected to a standard 15f connector.
