Improves open circuit potential and short circuit current.

About

Description: The technology comprises a novel strategy for high efficiency quantum dot solar cells (QDSC).  By employing Mn2+ doping in QDSCs we have succeeded in improving open circuit potential and short circuit current. QDSC constructed with Mn-doped-CdS/CdSe deposited on mesoscopic Ti02 film as photoanode, Cu2S/Graphene Oxide composite as counter electrode and sulfide/polysulfide electrolyte deliver power conversion efficiency of 5.4%. The doping of CdS/CdSe films with Mn has enabled a nearly 20% enhancement in the power conversion efficiency as compared to undoped films. The success of crossing the power conversion efficiency barrier of 5% for QDSC shows its potential towards competing with other emerging PV architectures.
