About

Description: The technology provides significantly improved methods for converting biomass, including woody biomass, and spent pulping/fractionation liquors, into highly deoxygenated fuels and chemicals. The feedstock is treated with an alkali formate which is then heated and distilled, condensing the vapor product to form a pyrolysis oil that contains less than 30% oxygen by weight.  Lower oxygen content results in biofuel with higher energy density.
