About

Smart City Market Opportunity Retail Sensing’s Smart City product(s) has been developed to serve the Smart City Market as ‘Internet of Things’ Sensors and Hardware / Software solutions. We call these the Smart IOT VT Sensors (Urban Sensing) People Counting  (Smart Mobility management) In the High Streets and City Centres the Smart IOT - VT System can be installed to monitor and count people to feedback high street and city centre footfall data by day of the week and time of day. Data logged and provided is both in real time and historic data collected for further analyses (Big Data Analytics) The Smart IOT – VT system can also be installed to provide real time data within retail units in the high street and city centres which will allow staff scheduling and promotional / marketing events. This can demonstrate in a practical way the city's commitment to retail on the high street. Bicycle Counting The Smart IOT –VT system can be used to count bicycles to help monitor and effectively support the promotion of healthy travelling and allows a measure of how green or pollution free certain areas are within a city centre by promoting bicycle health and sports events including and healthier method of travelling. Vehicle Counting (Smart traffic management and Congestion management) The Smart IOT – VT system will effectively count cars in a 2 way direction as well as a 24 point 4 way junction within cities to allow the councils to effectively manage the flow of traffic along the busiest routes across the city and monitor the times of day and days of the week of the busiest routes by vehicles. The Smart IOT – VT System will provide IOT data which will help quantify the use of footpaths and cycle ways in the roads and within parks including commuter routes around schools for safety and major routes within city centres. This can help to score the effectiveness Smart City projects such as City Verve to help score the public's perception of safety for various places and routes. From a health perspective the VT can provide Smart city data to monitor the effectiveness of healthy sports activity, events and jogging routes within the parkways. The Smart IOT – VT System will quantify the use of footpaths and Cycle ways to help Score the effectiveness of regeneration projects and score the public's perception of safety for various places and routes within the city. Automatic IOT- VT Passenger Counting System (within public transport) Buses - Know the numbers of people/ passengers arriving by bus at different points in the city, by time of day. The data will help with revenue protection and allow effective fleet bus management with services around the city centres. Also will provide the REAL TIME GPS location of the buses on services across the cities. Trains and Trams – Count People / passengers at the entry and exit points of platforms to know the numbers arriving at each train station. The data provides information on the use of routes by time of day. Public Conveniences and Public Buildings With real time feedback on the use of public conveniences, councils can make significant savings by scheduling cleaning operations and cuttings costs through the smart data analyses. Assess the use of public buildings such as libraries, galleries, advice centres, town halls etc. Effectively manage queuing times within these buildings. Bars and Clubs Monitor occupancy so that fire safety limits are not exceeded Owners and managers can get real-time feedback on numbers Law enforcement can get summary or on-site information Councils can get summary data for review at licence renewals
