Allows preparation of precisely defined fractions of low molecular-weight HA with potential therapeutic value.

About

Description of the Invention By combining ion-exchange chromatography for size-dependent separation of HA with a competitive ELSA (ELISA-like) assay that takes advantage of defined HA binding molecules, Dr. Cowman and colleagues have developed a novel method that: 1) Allows preparation of precisely defined fractions of low molecular-weight HA with potential therapeutic value 2) Enables accurate quantification of low molecular-weight HA as well as the relative amounts of HA of varying sizes present in biological samples
