With Britain’s growing ‘food on the go’ habit generating nearly 11bn items of packaging waste a year alone (much of which is not recycled), we need to relook at our relationship with single-use food to go packaging. And this staggering figure excludes food packaging used at festivals and sports events for example. Every year that we continue to waste our precious resources and live unsustainable lifestyles, we are setting ourselves up for long-term disaster. In addition, British households alone throw away 22 million tonnes of waste every year, and recycling rates have stagnated, plateauing at 50% – and this target was reached five years late! Largely, the system is hugely inefficient with some recycling plants rejecting as much as 15% of all the recycling that they receive so we need to act quickly to reduce the scale of this environmentally unsustainable behaviour. As food-to-go increases to grow in popularity, Street Food Box will dramatically reduce waste in the long-term. Washable, dishwasher-safe, stain-proof, and microwave-safe, Street Food Box is easy to clean, easy to use, easy to carry, compact and stylish. Made from virtually indestructible polypropylene, each box can be used over and over again.
