Unmet Need:   Intravenous, intraarterial, and intraventricular (brain) access is a challenge in the research industry. Technology Overview: Intravenous, Intraarterial, and Intraventricular (brain) access can be challenging in animal models.  The microport has a flexible tubing catheter.  At the end of the catheter, we have created a valve system so that fluid can exit but cannot backwash into the catheter.  This will minimize the risk of having a blood clot form within the catheter.  This will eliminate the need for a heparin flush.  In addition, the catheter has miniature anchors to prevent the catheter from migrating in the animal.   Stage of Development:  Researchers have created and already successfully inserted and used their prototype catheter in a mouse.
