Modular, scalable collective drinking water system utilising configurable pre-filtration, fully automated UF system with next generation disinfection - ECO friendly active chlorine

About

Paqua is a family run business on a mission to make a difference – backed by generations of expertise. We are committed to providing fresh drinking water from almost any freshwater source, utilising our ground-breaking technology which offers great advantages over more standard water purification systems. Our systems and technology have been stress-tested by the University of the West of England, Bristol, and trialled in different environments across the globe. These tests confirmed that we’d succeeded in what we set out to do: provide a dependable and cost-effective water supply that isfully automated, virtually maintenance free and entirely free of carbon and hazardous chemicals. Our vision continues to be to supply safe, sustainable drinking water throughout the world. This vision has seen a review of our brand identity, a summary of which is contained within this document. It covers everything from the core brand essence, through the tone of voice to the new logo and how each of the brand elements should be implemented across everything from signage toclothing and beyond. This is an identity to be proud of. It is an identity that represents a brand like no other.

Key Benefits

Problem Alignment. We produce an in innovative, modular, water purification system utilizing cutting edge 4.0 technology that does not use active carbon or Ultraviolet (UV). The minimal power usage and low maintenance requirements addresses the desire of low operation costs (OPEX) wherever possible via utilizing environmentally sustainable technologies. Through our Smart control systems, we guarantee microbiologically clean potable water even when stored in a tank. Our innovative systems require little maintenance and are autonomous through intelligence though interconnection of instrumentation and algorithms, freeing up the Engineer to spend most of their time on more pressing needs. We negate the use of harsh chemicals freeing up potential operator injury handling the chemicals and additional supply chain burden of getting the chemicals to the location. Our solution addresses the ability to be able to efficiently produce drinking quality water in the field from fresh water sources such as lakes, rivers, reservoirs, or boreholes and can be set up and running in a short time. Our scalable solutions will assure access to an adequate supply of water to ensure mission success.Potential for Impact Solution's Uniqueness. Simple to set up and operate and fully autonomous functionality including backwashing, dosing & CIP. We use some processed water to produce disinfectant on demand together with the latest energy efficient variable speed pumps throughout to reduce the environmental impact. They are small and can be deployed in an all-weather tent to ISO container to existing building. The system pressures are much lower than RO systems requiring less power to operate and safer to work on. Operational Impact. Our Unit: 85-90% water utilisation using the remaining water to automatically self-clean and produce disinfectant on demand. Disinfectant can be used elsewhere by the organisation for general surface and room fogging applications. Extremely low power per litre produced, which is sustainable, retaining natural minerals for healthy wholesome water. Full automated with minimal human intervention due to high reliability. UF Membranes can stop and start as required for short periods of time. Very simple to operate as system self-adjusts to variable levels of source water contamination. Dependable maintenance schedule and remote system monitoring employed to identify issues before they happen in real time ensuring maximum availability and reliability. Very low carbon footprint and can run from Solar or wind. No active carbon filters are used instead we utilise the latest environmentally friendly pre-filtration technologies. UF Membrane is much less sensitive & resistant to Trans membrane pressure (TMP) changes, general pressure changes and scaling making them a fine choice for water filtration. Automatic environmentally friendly chlorination - Paqualyte disinfection is made on demand within the unit and injected into the pipework to reduce biofilm, increase efficiency with residual chlorine remaining in the water to protect from biological regrowth. Our Paqualyte disinfection is the next generation, eco friendly active chlorine species without the traditional chlorine environmental drawbacks that is made from clean water, and a small amount of salt and electricity. Extremely efficient OPEX model with low cost per litre. Is a complete collective drinking water system producing water to EU regulation 98/83 Current alternative solutions such as RO units: Single pass can be more than 50% loss. High power level per litre produced due to high pressures and high-powered pumps. RO is labour intensive with regular intervention required. Not advisable to integrate post municipal chlorination as will damage the membrane. Strips all essential minerals & salts through water molecule separation requiring re-mineralization with taste issues and possible osteoporosis due to lack of calcium and magnesium. Flow through the Membranes should not stop as will cause damage due to low pressure and backward flow and requires skilled operator to monitor and maintain. Prone to stoppages, unreliability issues, inadequate microbial control or inadequate monitoring. Membrane is susceptible to damage via increases in TMP, backpressure phenomena, abrasion processes from fouling, massive or micro damages from scaling, oxidation processes. May use secondary chlorination that will need operator training to handle dangerous chemicals which require PPE. Finally, alone is unable to comply with EU regulation 98/83 from storage water tank unless secondary chlorination / disinfection and re-mineralisation present.Potential Scale of Impact. Our water purification systems can be deployed virtually anywhere, in a tent, on a vehicle, ISO container or existing building for both short term or permanent water production. Our small units can produce from 300l/h to 1000l/h and larger units up to 15,000 l/h currently with larger units to follow. This would mean that we could provide enough drinking water at 10 liters per day/ person for 30,000 people with just one unit.Operator Demand. Our systems are so easy and effective to use that they effectively run themselves through automation leaving the Operator to focus on other critical needs. They are very low maintenance, efficient and been proven out in the field in UK and Europe from Ponds, lakes, rivers and boreholes. We measure the water quality so only safe water is delivered. The unit can self-diagnose problems if they occur and can transmit data back home to back office to analyze. Unit easily adjusts to water demand and most importantly source water quality.

Applications

We have a range our systems starting at 500l/h or 10,000 litres per day for small communities right through to our largest unit at 15,000l/h or 300,000 litres per day suitable for small towns.Aimed predominantly as a decentralised solution, off grid, wherethere is no mains water, we can draw fresh water from boreholes, lakes orrivers where water is of a scare commodity. Our systems can even clean andpolish municipality supplies ensuring buildings such as hotels, schools andhospitals receive wholesome drinking water thus eliminating the common issues associatedwith poor dinking and washing water to the population. Our focus areas are: ·       Drinking water for small off-grid communities·       Drinking water to |Hotels for guest’s rooms, kitchens and leisure·       Temporary drinking water drop ship for disaster relief situations such as burst rivers contaminating local municipal supplies thus negating the need to supply bottled water to site.·       Drinking water for livestock·       Military drinking water for use at FOB and rear echelon from battlefield water sources·       Clean biologically ladened wastewater before release into the environment·       Fruit cleaning prior to packaging·       Combined drinking water and disinfection plant to combat common nonconical infection and legionella control for water systems in Hospitals.
