Sunscreen is invisible when it's working, and it's invisible when its *not* working. The average consumer only applies 25% of the recommended amount of sunscreen, and less than 50% reapply their sunscreen if they are outside all day. Suncayr has developed SPOTMYUV: a smart indicator of ultraviolet radiation (UV). SPOTMYUV enhances your sunscreen experience by ensuring that your sunscreen is always protecting your skin. SPOT will tell sunscreen users how effective their sunscreen is all day long using colour changing designs that are easy to understand. SPOTMYUV users can now receive active feedback on their sunscreen coverage, so they can be sure when they have applied enough sunscreen (when the patch is clear, showing they are protected) and when their sunscreen is no longer protecting them (when the patch changes to purple). A user would put stick SPOTMYUV on, and then they apply sunscreen over-top (as well as all over their body). SPOTMYUV has both fun designs and a special UV-responsive area that changes colour based on UV exposure. When the area is clear, SPOT is showing that the user’s skin is protected from UV by the sunscreen they used. When the area changes to purple, that means sunscreen has worn off and the user’s skin is now exposed to UV light. SPOTMYUV has dermatrue (TM) technology which mimics skin’s interaction with sunscreen, so SPOTMYUV can tell how sunscreen is wearing off of your skin while the user does any activity outside. This is especially important since sunscreen comes off at vastly different rates whether the user is swimming, sweating, or relaxing. The best example of how this technology customizes the user experience is to imagine that two people at a beach, but only one person decides to go swim. The swimmer’s sunscreen will be wearing off faster (from the water), and their SPOT will be changing colour faster. We can print any image or brand on SPOT. There is a huge opportunity to place sunscreen brands or licensed kids characters on the stickers to customize the end user's experience.
