WhzApp is an information hub, self-assessment and communication tool, vital signs log and more, keeping clinicians updated on their patients' health remotely.

About

WhzApp, our zero-cost application, is a brand-new way to connect with patients, monitor conditions remotely and deliver key information and advice - all in one easy-to-use app. It allows clinicians to stay updated on their patient's health and vital signs and ensure they’re following care plans – without unnecessary GP or hospital visits. It works on any mobile, tablet, PC or smart device, even a smart TV. WhzApp supports patients at home who may use their own or supplied medical hardware, allowing clinicians to connect with patients, monitor conditions remotely and deliver key information and care advice. An increasing number of NHS trusts are creating virtual wards with Whzan to support patients post hospital discharge and our WhzApp solution acts as a safe step-down monitoring tool once the path to recovery is clear. A growing library of information, features and customised disease specific tools are stored on the cloud dashboard. WhzApp content is totally configurable on a per patient basis with caseloads specific to PCNs and/or conditions, ie BP@home.

Key Benefits

Over many years and from NHS reports we have proven the Whzan system improves quality of life and raises patient safety. Our systems and their features are used to identify early signs of deterioration and illness as well as giving the population the confidence they need to manage their own health. In turn, this has enabled patients to access healthcare support much earlier leading to faster recovery and less demand on NHS services. WhzApp is simple to use, reducing barriers to monitor health and improve equality of access. We have feedback from GPs, clinicians and patients confirming care is being delivered in a better and more effective way through WhzApp. It enables the remote monitoring of patients which directly reduces carbon emissions through the reduced GP visits, ambulances and carer home visits. WhzApp is beneficial to patients who manage multiple conditions. Instead of having a separate application for each condition, WhzApp can provide information on all of a patient's conditions in one place. It provides comprehensive information about health conditions and how to manage and live with them. It is also used by these patients to monitor their condition by logging vital signs and symptoms. Moreover, WhzApp is completely free, meaning there is no cost to the user or GP surgery/Local Authority/NHS.

Applications

WhzApp is incredibly versatile and can be used for any patient group. WhzApp has a full feature set including multimedia information, symptoms recording, vital signs recording, calendars and schedules, photo and video capture, medication reminders, weather forecast with air quality index. The growing list of application areas available include: COPD, asthma, hypertension screening, pulse oximetry and other vital signs recording, e.g. post COVID-19, mood capture and mental health, physiotherapy, diabetes, maternity, osteoporosis, heart failure, childhood continence, social care home activity monitoring, informal care networks, cold and damp homes and more. The architecture of WhzApp permits continuous extension of features and health topics. We work in partnership with NHS and healthcare professionals to ensure information provided to patients is in accordance with clinical protocols. WhzApp can be customised and configured for an array of different functions and tools. We provide development of the application free of cost, with the understanding it can be shared with all Whzan users. WhzApp is used to perform assessments over a specified period of time. BP@Home reminds a patient to take two consecutive blood pressure readings twice a day for 14 days, after which a report is created and sent to their clinician. We can create any type of assessment which can be completed over a period of time or within a few minutes.
