Qnergy's PowerGen delivers 5.65 kWe from variable methane sources; natural gas, landfill, biogas with certified 100% methane destruction for reliable remote power.

About

Qnergy's proprietary Free Piston Stirling external combustion is capable of taking a range of gaseous fuels to provide utility grade electricity with recoverable and usable heat for reliable remote power with proven performance from -40 to + 40C environmental conditions. Our engine has been twice certified by 3rd parties as providing 100% methane destruction with GHG footprint exceeding EPA specified GHG emissions for offroad engines and generators. Its non-rotary design, requires no lubricants and no required scheduled maintenance for 80,000 hours continuous operation. Qnergy has >1000 units in the field with some at +40,000 hours of continuous operation, and used to power a variety of equipment from compressed air pneumatics to charging stations to sensing and monitoring.

Key Benefits

The free piston Stirling engine is external combustion and non-rotary. This means that we can combust a variable range of methane (or other gaseous fuel) sources of variable quantity and quality without need for scrubbing and still deliver electricity. The engine is proven to function from -40 to +40C and internally rated for 80,000 hours of continuous operation with no required maintenance for reduced operating and maintenance costs and superior total cost of ownership. Finally, independent testing organizations like CANEric and others have verified our 100% methane destruction performance and superior GHG footprint due to completeness of combustion and destruction of GHG components.

Applications

Qnergy's PowerGen is used for cathodic protection. When coupled with compressed air pneumatics it enables natural gas customers to eliminate pneumatic controller based venting to make wellpads net zero methane emitting. We are used by the telecom industry to replace polluting and expensive diesel engine backups. We are piloting uses in landfill gas and farm anaerobic digestion--anywhere methane is found.
